Reducing equipment for gas
Gas pressure reducer is specialized device used to reduce and automatically maintain a gas or gas mixture pressure at the cylinder output.
Gas pressure reducers may be used for both flammable (propane, hydrogen, ethylene, etc.) and inflammable (helium, argon, nitrogen, etc.) gases. In these case, they are different in the body color and type of connection mechanism to the cylinder body. All reducers except for acetylene are connected using union nuts with the same thread as that if the valve nozzle's. Acetylene reducers are connected to the cylinders through clamps with a lock screw.
Left-handed thread on flammable gas pressure reducers to avoid spontaneous reducer connection to an oxygen cylinder. Inert gas cylinder, similar to oxygen cylinders, have right-handed thread.
