Acetylene is an organic colorless gas from the alkyne group. The chemical formula of the substance is С2Н2. It is lighter than air, poorly soluble in water. It boils at −83.8 °C. It is highly flammable and explosive. Acetylene gas has weak toxic effect. It is stored and transported in steel cylinders filled with inert porous mass.
How to select the right option?
When choosing gas equipment, you must strictly observe the relevant safety rules:
- Buy gas cylinders only from certified vendors.
- Gas cylinders must be tested.
- ЕIf the cylinders are stored outside, they must be protected from precipitation and sunlight.
- Avoid exposure to mechanical factors during storage.
- Protect cylinders from overheating, do not allow leaks.
Buy pure bottled acetylene from BK Group. To place an order, please contact our Moscow office by the phone: +7 495 118-41-95, or leave a query at our official website.
- Colorless gas
- lighter than air. Odorless in its pure form. Flammable
- explosive when heated.
Pure acetylene, compared to other fuel gases, has higher efficiency due to its property of producing high-temperature flame. Maximum efficiency is achieved when synthesized with oxygen. Gaseous acetylene provides high quality and speed of work.
- Gaseous acetylene is used as a source of bright white light in certain lamps. This effect is achieved through the reaction of calcium carbide and water (carbide or acetylene lamp);
- Acetylene is used for the production of explosives and glass;
- For the manufacture of acetic acid, ethanol, solvents, plastics, rubber, aromatic hydrocarbons.
- In rocket engines.
- For the production of carbon black.
- In atomic absorption spectroscopy during flame atomization.
